Hey there, neighbors and friends! If you’ve ever felt like you wanted to do more than just donate a few bucks, if you’ve ever felt that fire in your belly to really make a change in the fight against cancer, then we have an incredible opportunity for you.
At Cancer Eradicators, we live by a very simple truth: Cancer picked the WRONG TEAM.
We are a community-driven group of fighters dedicated to the Cancer Eradicators mission to end cancer. These days, that mission reaches wider than ever. Cancer Eradicators is a hub for the entire fight against cancer, supporting all cancer organizations, research initiatives, and community efforts that move this mission forward. Every year, we lace up our boots (the ones with the purple laces, of course!) and get to work raising funds, rallying support, and bringing people together around one powerful goal: ending cancer. More importantly, that work brings real promise, practical support, and renewed life to the people and families we serve. But as we grow, so does our need for passionate leaders. We aren’t just looking for volunteers; we’re looking for visionaries to join our Board of Directors.

Why We Walk, Fight, and Win
Cancer Eradicators is more than a team name. It’s a promise to show up, stand together, and do our part to help end cancer everywhere we can. We’re building an inclusive community hub for the broader mission, one that supports all cancer organizations, research efforts, patient-centered causes, and local initiatives making a difference. Every dollar raised helps fuel hope, awareness, and community-driven action around a cause that touches so many lives. That’s why every effort matters, from every conversation to every event to every pair of boots on the ground.
We’ve seen the impact firsthand. When a community comes together with heart and purpose, lives are touched, families feel supported, and momentum builds. But to keep that momentum going, we need a solid foundation.
We’re Recruiting: Join Our Board of Directors
We are officially looking for five dedicated individuals to fill key leadership roles on the Cancer Eradicators Board. We need community members who are ready to roll up their sleeves and help us scale our impact. If you have a passion for leadership and a heart for the community, one of these roles might have your name on it:
1. Treasurer: The Financial Guardian
If you’re the person who loves a good spreadsheet, believes in absolute transparency, and brings banking expertise to the table, we need you. As our Treasurer, you’ll oversee our fundraising accounts, ensure that every dollar raised is tracked correctly, and help us manage our operational budget. You’ll be the backbone of our financial integrity, ensuring our donors know their contributions are creating real community impact, bringing promise, support, and life-giving resources to the people we serve.
2. Secretary: The Organizational Architect
A team is only as good as its communication. Our Secretary is responsible for keeping us organized, managing board meeting minutes, maintaining our records, and ensuring our community outreach is consistent and clear. If you’re organized, detail-oriented, and love keeping a team on track, this is the spot for you. Your work helps make sure families, supporters, and partners stay connected to a community built on hope and follow-through.
3. Healthcare Director: The Medical Liaison
We want to deepen our connection to the healthcare world. The Healthcare Director will act as our bridge to medical professionals, survivors, and wellness advocates. You’ll help guide initiatives that promote cancer prevention and education within our community, and this role requires medicine experience. Your expertise helps turn information into action and gives our community more access to hope, understanding, and life-affirming support.
4. Community Relations Director: The Relationship Builder
Our strength is in our numbers. The Community Relations Director is all about outreach. Your job is to find new partners, recruit more walkers, and keep our community engaged throughout the year. You’re the face of the Cancer Eradicators at local events and the one making sure everyone knows that when they join us, they’re joining a family. The outcome of your work is simple and powerful: more people feeling seen, supported, and connected to a hopeful community.
5. Fundraising Director: The Strategy Specialist
This is where the magic happens. The Fundraising Director develops the roadmap for our success. You’ll lead the charge in brainstorming creative ways to hit our goals, whether that’s through corporate sponsorships, local rallies, or peer-to-peer challenges. If you bring a nonprofit and fundraising background, plus the drive to motivate others with smart strategy, we want you at the helm. Your leadership helps turn generosity into tangible outcomes for the community: more support, more hope, and more life poured into this mission.

Cancer Eradicators is a welcoming hub for the entire fight against cancer, bringing people together to support the full spectrum of cancer-focused organizations, research initiatives, outreach efforts, and hope-filled work happening across the board. Our board members aren't just names on a list; they are active participants in that bigger mission. We meet in casual, empowering environments where every idea counts.

The road ahead is always on the horizon, and we have big plans. We’re talking bigger rallies, more purple ribbons lining the streets of Houston, and more ways to connect this community to the many organizations and research initiatives pushing the fight against cancer forward. We want every step we take to light up the community with promise in Radiant Purple, Energetic Red, and Luminous Navy.
But we can’t do it without a strong leadership core. We need people who are ready to take the "Fundraising Roadmap" and turn it into reality. We need people who believe that a world without cancer is possible if we all just keep walking forward, together, as a hub for the bigger mission and as a source of hope and life for the communities we support.
